At a glance
Tonezio requires no Tonezio account and contains no ads or cross-app advertising tracking. Microphone audio is analyzed live on your device and is never recorded or sent to us. Optional app analytics and crash sharing are separate choices, off by default.
Microphone and measurements
The app uses the built-in microphone or a selected compatible USB input with Plus to calculate frequency information and estimated sound levels. The microphone signal is discarded after analysis. Recording saves derived levels, compact spectrum history, timestamps, Coach observations, markers, possible-feedback events, actions and any name or notes you enter. Microphone calibration profiles are stored on the device.
iCloud and deletion
Saved measurements can be kept in your private iCloud Drive when available. Apple provides that storage. You can delete a soundcheck from History at any time.
Optional app usage analytics
Only if you enable usage analytics in the app, Firebase Analytics collects product interactions and basic app, device, session and installation information. This can include a pseudonymous app-instance identifier; it is not described as completely anonymous. It does not include microphone audio, sound-level values, measured frequencies, recording names, notes, reports or feedback messages. It is not used for advertising. You can turn it off in Settings.
Optional crash sharing
Crash sharing has its own default-off setting. If enabled, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Sessions send technical crash reports, stack traces and basic app/device information to help fix stability problems. These do not contain microphone audio, measurements, recording names, notes, PDFs or feedback messages. Turning sharing off stops future uploads and requests deletion of pending local reports. The SDK may still keep technical reports locally; reports already sent are not retracted.
On-device Apple Intelligence
Optional Apple Intelligence processes a bounded summary of derived soundcheck evidence locally, on a compatible device and in a supported language. Tonezio does not send prompts or measurements to an external AI service or use cloud AI as a fallback. Immediate built-in plans and answers work without AI. Saved debriefs may be stored with a soundcheck in your private iCloud Drive; on-device processing is separate from that storage.
Website analytics
This website loads Google Analytics only after you choose Allow analytics. It measures page visits and basic browser/device information and may use analytics cookies. Advertising signals are disabled. You can change the choice using Analytics preferences at the bottom of the site. This choice is separate from the app’s settings.
Feedback you submit
If you choose to send feedback, your message, selected category, basic app/device diagnostics and any optional reply email are sent to Tonezio’s feedback service through Brevo. This information is used only to respond to feedback and improve Tonezio. Do not include sensitive personal information.
Purchases
Tonezio Plus purchases are processed by Apple. Tonezio reads the verified purchase entitlement but does not operate its own payment server or customer account.
